Monday Morning Memes #5

Cheri Speak

I have read a few posts over the months about the non-virtues of memes. I see memes everyday around the internet. Some are great [funny, helpful, thoughtful and/or thought-provoking] and some are just plain mean [stupid, derogatory, racist, intolerant] and unnecessary.

I like the concept of memes. Maybe it’s because of my media background? Probably, I mean, a meme is like an advertisement or even an endorsement, if it’s done right.

When I create a meme, you know, one I’ve thought up myself? I put my web address on it and set it free. Do I get any traffic from adding it? I have no idea, but my blog name is being passed around a lot and that can’t be a bad thing.

What is a Budtender?

Posted on Updated on

Cheri Speak

Everyone knows what a BARtender is, so if you think a minute, BUDtender should be easy enough to figure out and if you thought BARtenders got an earful of woes from their customers, you can also imagine those that a BUDtender hears. Check-out these BUDtenders making MMJ history!

For those of you following Cannabis Culture, particularly for legalized states, here is the September issue of the Daily Doobie. My monthly column, “Budtender of the Month” is on page 7 of this issue.

If you missed last month’s issue, you can find the August issue here with my column on page 5.

For all you “Tokemans” (think Pokeman), you can also find the Daily Doobie on Facebook or feel free to check out their website.

Either way, as they say — and if you likie, puff, puff, pass…it on.

Don’t Bogart this post my friend and if you have an opinion on pot legalization, I would love to hear it. Please leave your comments below.

If you read my blog frequently then you probably know I also write a couple of monthly newspaper columns related to cannabis, aka pot, legalization.

In the state of Colorado it will be legal for anyone 21-and-over to purchase [and smoke or cook with] weed beginning January 1st, 2014. As the protocols are being set and the National foundation laid, many eyes are glued to the process, including mine.

Yesterday, while doing research and background for an…
